Hello subscribers,

this week’s Member Report is about a trading opportunity in the grain market. I will evaluate the current setup for wheat.

Quick facts about the wheat market

Meanwhile, wheat is the second most important grain after corn. You can divide wheat into five different classes. These 5 wheat categories are comprised of: hard red winter, hard red spring, soft red winter, white and durum wheat.

The one which is the best to trade on the CME is the soft red wheat type. This is also the one I’m trading most of the time.

Based on high global competition, year for year the US becomes less important for the global production of wheat, as this time series by the USDA shows.
